Workstream settings

Title column, evidence and permits each job needs, managers, route report columns and client-facing fields.

Each workstream carries settings that every job in it inherits. Open them from the Jobs header: Manage workstreams (the gear icon) › the workstream's Edit button. The dialog is titled Edit {name}.

Edit workstream on a route workstream, scrolled to Report columns and Shown to the client

Name, title column and description

  • Name — as it appears on the tab.
  • Title column label — what this workstream calls a job's title, for example Address on a meter-exchange workstream or Permit ref on a permits one ("e.g. Permit ref (blank = tenant default)"). It renames the first column of the table, the importer's key column and the job form's first field. You can also rename it from the column's header menu with Rename column.
  • Description — a line for the office about what belongs here.

The workstream's type — standard or route — is set when it is created and can't be changed here.

Evidence required before completion

The minimum photos or files every job in this workstream needs before it can be marked done — for example one Before photo and two After. Choose Add requirement, then a category (General, Before, During or After), Photos or Any file, and how many. "Applies to new jobs and jobs moved to this client or workstream. Existing jobs keep their recorded requirements."

A client can set its own requirements too; a job carries both. See Job evidence and completion requirements.

Authorisations this work needs

Tick the authorisation types every job in this workstream must hold — a road opening notice, a hot works permit. "Every job in this workstream inherits these. Each permit's own setting, under Authorisation types, says whether a job can start without it." A type that doesn't stop the work is labelled on its chip — Traffic plan · warns only, or · not checked.

Each job's Authorisations card then leads with anything missing: "Cannot start: Road opening notice (not granted)" for types that stop the work, "Still needed: …" for types that only warn — with (expired) or (refused) where that is the reason. A type that stops the work keeps the crew from clocking in on the job until the permit is granted, unless someone with Override eligibility allows it. These are the same requirements Eligibility › What work needs shows for the workstream.

With no types set up yet, it points you to Authorisations › Authorisation types. See Authorisations and permits.

Managers

"People limited to the workstreams they manage see this one only if they are named here." Tick the people who run this workstream. A supervisor whose access covers only the workstreams they manage sees its jobs, schedule and routes only when they are named here. See Workstream scope.

Report columns (route workstreams)

On a route workstream, Report columns decides "What a route shows: the completion report everyone exports — office and field — and the first few of these on the route list itself." Tap columns in the order they should print, up to seven so the report stays on one landscape page. The chips number themselves as you tap, and a line underneath previews the result (Prints: Route → Address → Meter serial → Status). Reset goes back to the standard order: route, title, status and notes, then the sheet's other filled-in columns.

See PDF reports: submissions and route completion.

Shown to the client

Tick the job fields that every measure for this workstream should put on the quote or invoice, beside the priced lines — a permit number, a meter serial, the address. The summary reads "Every measure for this team starts with: … Whoever records one can change it." It is a starting point for each measure, not a lock.

Documents

At the foot of the dialog, Documents lists the Binder items pinned to this workstream, such as its method statement. Click one to open it in the Binder. The section only appears once something is pinned; pin items from the Binder. See The Binder on the job.

Saving

Choose Save. Changes apply straight away to every job in the workstream; evidence requirements apply to new jobs and to jobs moved in, as above.
