Your profile and account
Your ID card, credentials and documents, the settings you control yourself, and what needs an admin.
The Me tab
Me is your personal record: "Your ID card, profile and credentials." It's the first item in the office navigation and the last tab on the phone.

- Digital ID card: if your workspace has switched it on, you'll see your card and its Check-in code. "Anyone who scans this card sees the details on the card above, plus whether your clearances are in date. Your documents are never shared and your credentials are never listed." If it's off: "Your workspace has not turned on the digital ID card." See Digital ID cards.
- My credentials: Add your own licences and certifications. "An administrator reviews each one before it counts." You can edit or remove one while it's Pending review. Once approved it counts towards work that needs it, and Maliru reminds you before it expires.
- My documents: Submit a document, such as right to work or a driving licence, and Read & sign anything waiting for your signature. Earnings statements and self-bill statements your workspace has issued you are filed here too, with any older payslips. See Where to find your earnings statement.
- Expenses at the top opens your own expense claims. See Expenses and reimbursements.
On the phone, Me also has shortcuts to My time, Leave, My forms, Expenses, Pay and Deductions, each shown only when your workspace uses it, and a Settings gear.
What you control yourself
On the phone, the Settings gear on Me opens:

- Notifications: what reaches you on each channel. See Notification preferences.
- Storage: how much of the workspace's file storage is used.
- Contact Maliru support: Marie, Maliru's AI assistant, who answers from the guides and hands you to the Maliru team. A count beside it, and a dot on the Settings gear, mean Maliru has replied and you haven't read it yet.
- Appearance: Match my phone, Light or Dark. "Dark mode is easier on the eyes in a cab at night, and on your battery."
- Language: "Choose the language Maliru uses for you, on this phone and in your notifications." The choices are Match my phone, English, Español, Français, Română and العربية. See Choosing your language on the phone.
- Navigation app (in the iPhone and Android apps): the maps app that Directions opens, such as Google Maps, Waze or Apple Maps, or Ask me next time. The first time you tap Directions, Maliru asks "Open directions in" and remembers your answer. With only one maps app on the phone, Directions opens that one.
- Sign-in number: the number you sign in with. To move to a new one, type it and enter the code texted to it. Every company you belong to moves with you, unless somebody there already has that number. See A new phone number, below.
- Check for updates (in the iPhone and Android apps): opens Maliru's page in your app store.
- Terms of use and Privacy policy.
- Switch company, Admin view (if you also use the office workspace) and Sign out.
- Under a line, the version you're running, for example Version 1.0.0 (32).
In the office, open the account menu › Notification settings for notifications, and Global settings › Appearance for light or dark mode and row density. See Dark mode and row density. Under Me › Marie you choose the shortcut that opens Marie, can switch her off for yourself and, on Crew and Enterprise, see what she remembers for you. See Marie, your assistant in Maliru. The office screens are in English. The language setting applies to the field app and to your notifications.
What needs an admin
- Your name, email, job title and photo are changed on your user record by someone who manages users.
- A new phone number. If you can still sign in, move it yourself in Me › Settings › Sign-in number. If you can't, your admin moves it on your record and gives you an invite code: sign in with the new number and type the code. Either way you keep your own record and everything on it. See Can't sign in.
- Your access and permissions can only be changed by an admin, and nobody can raise their own. See Access profiles and permissions.
Companies and signing out
- Switch company: in the office account menu, or Me › Settings › Switch company on the phone. Your memberships are listed with the current one marked, and you can move to another without signing out. Companies that have invited your number are listed too: tap Join and type the code from your invite, or choose Join with an invite code. If you only have one: "You only belong to one company. Join another with its invite or join link and you can switch between them here." Switching changes the work and permissions you see. When you sign in with a number that belongs to two or more companies, Maliru asks which one to open. See Signing in.
- Sign out: in the office account menu, or Me › Settings on the phone. Signing out also stops that device receiving the workspace's notifications, so do it before handing a phone to someone else. The phone keeps your number filled in for next time, and nothing else.
Captures still waiting to send on a device stay with the workspace and sign-in that created them. Go back there and open Review › Send now to finish sending. See My report didn't send.
Handy to know
- On a person's record, click the profile photo to open it full size. An avatar that only shows initials has no photo to open.
- Quote the Version line, from the office account menu or Me › Settings, whenever you contact support. See Updating Maliru and finding your app version.
Tip: keep your credentials up to date in Me. An expired ticket can stop you being scheduled onto, or starting, work that needs it. Maliru warns you 30 days before by default.
