Switch Marie on for your workspace
Marie reads your workspace's records only once an owner has switched her on. What changes, who can switch her off, and where the data goes.
Until an owner switches her on, Marie helps everyone with how Maliru works and finds records by name or number, and that's all. She doesn't read your workspace's records to answer a question. Switching her on lets her look things up when someone asks.
Switching her on
Only an owner can switch Marie on. Go to Global settings › Marie. One screen explains what she reads, that she changes nothing until the person asking confirms it, and where the data goes. Switch her on there.
From then on, on every plan, Marie can explain someone's own setup, such as why they can't see a job or what a permission lets them do. And:
- Team: Marie answers from your records, such as who's on site, what's waiting for approval and which vehicles are off the road, with the records one click away.
- Crew and Enterprise: she also sets reminders and watches, remembers what people ask her to, and prepares changes for them to confirm. See What Marie can do for you, and what she never does.
Each person's Marie sees only what that person may see: an owner's sees the whole workspace, a supervisor's sees their own workstreams and crews, and a field worker's sees their own day. Marie has no access of her own, takes no seat and never appears as a user.
Global settings › Marie shows who switched her on and when. Switching her on or off is recorded in the audit trail.
Switching her off
Anyone with Manage settings can switch Marie off for the workspace, in the same place. She goes back to helping with how Maliru works and finding records. Switching her on again needs an owner.
Each person can also switch Marie off for themselves, under Me › Marie.
Workspace shorthand
On Crew and Enterprise, Global settings › Marie also lists your workspace's shorthand: what your company's own names mean, such as "the yard" for the Bristol depot, or "the Coventry job" for job AOV15C4. Everyone's Marie uses it. People with Manage settings can add and delete it. See What Marie remembers.
Where the data goes
To answer, Marie sends the conversation and the records she looks up to Maliru's AI model provider, Anthropic, which processes them under its data processing terms. Nothing is used to train AI models. Each conversation is private to the person who had it, and is deleted 90 days after its last message. See the Privacy Policy and Marie, your assistant in Maliru.
