Welcome to Maliru

One workspace for field operations, from the job and the schedule to the proof, the money and the audit trail.

Maliru turns field activity into records you can stand behind. The office plans and schedules the work, the crew sees it on their phones and captures proof as they go, and it all lands back in one auditable record, which then feeds invoicing and pay.

Two experiences, one workspace

  • The office workspace, on a laptop or any wide screen. Jobs, Schedule, Forms, Commercial, Pay, Users and the rest are in the left-hand navigation, and the Dashboard opens on what needs your attention.
  • The field app, on a phone. Field workers get a focused set of tabs: Today, Work, the central Capture button, Chat and Me. There's no admin clutter, and forms keep working without signal.

Which one you see depends on your screen and your role. On a wide screen, everyone opens in the office workspace, showing what their permissions allow. On a phone, field workers and supervisors get the field app, while owners and office admins get the office workspace. Owners, office admins, supervisors and custom profiles with management permissions can switch between the two, on a phone or a computer: Field view in the account menu, and Admin view in the field app's Me › Settings menu. On a computer the field app opens phone-sized in the middle of the screen, just as your team sees it. Maliru remembers the choice until you sign out.

The modules

Every module is included on every plan, and you choose which ones appear. Under Global settings › Modules there are sixteen: Jobs & work orders, Scheduling & dispatch, Clients & contracts, Sites & locations, Fleet & vehicles, Assets & equipment, Authorisations, Forms & inspections, Defects & issues, Evidence & audit trail, Time & timesheets, Commercial & billing, Pay & payroll ("What people are paid, and what comes off it"), Workforce records, Communications & updates and Binder ("Company documents and inductions"). Dashboard, Users and Settings are always on.

Switch off what you don't use and the navigation, the phone and the dashboard slim down to match. Most modules also let you switch off individual features inside them. As onboarding puts it: "Pricing is based on user limits, not module access." See Seats, plans and billing.

How the records fit together

A few ideas explain most of Maliru:

  • Jobs are the core work record. Forms, evidence and defects can also attach directly to vehicles, assets, sites or people when that's the right place for them.
  • Workstreams are your types of work, each with its own fields, statuses and views.
  • Shifts and routes put jobs on the schedule and in workers' hands, with confirmations built in.
  • Forms, evidence and defects bring structured proof back from the field.
  • Commercial and Pay price what the record already knows: measured work becomes invoices, and approved time becomes pay. Maliru works out pay, but it never moves money or files returns.
  • The audit trail records who did what and when, automatically, everywhere.
