Updating Maliru and finding your app version
Find the version you're running, check for updates, get past Update Maliru, and keep saved work safe.
Maliru on the web updates itself when you reload the page. The iPhone and Android apps update through your app store. An old phone app can be blocked once it no longer works safely with the current service, and then it asks you to update before you continue.
Find the version for support
- In the office: open the account menu (your avatar, top right). The last line, under Sign out, shows the version.
- On the phone: open Me › Settings. The version is the last line of the menu.
The line reads like Version 1.0.0 (32), where the number in brackets is the build. In a browser it reads (web) instead of a build number. These examples don't tell you which release is the latest.

Give support the whole line, say whether you're on iPhone, Android or a browser, and describe what you were doing when the problem happened. If there's no version line, say so rather than guessing.
Check for updates
In the iPhone and Android apps, Me › Settings › Check for updates opens Maliru's page in your app store, where you can see and install any newer version. If the store can't open, you'll see "The store could not be opened." Open the store yourself and search for Maliru.
On the web there's nothing to install: reload the page. If a fix still hasn't reached you after an update, a hard refresh (Ctrl+Shift+R, or Cmd+Shift+R on a Mac) makes the browser fetch the latest copy.
"Update Maliru"
When the installed app is too old, this screen covers everything else: Update Maliru, "This version of Maliru is out of date. Update the app to continue." Tap Open the store where it's offered, or open Maliru in the store or managed distribution channel you normally use. If no update is offered there, contact your administrator or Maliru support with the version you have.
Update the existing app in place. Don't uninstall it or clear its storage while drafts or captures are waiting, because they may be the only copy.
After updating, open Maliru with working signal and go back to the company that captured the work. Being blocked for an old version leaves queued captures waiting. It doesn't delete them. Tap Review, choose Send now if needed, and check that sending finishes.
"Still on the phone"
If sending a report fails with a message that a field has files "still on the phone. Update the Maliru app, then send it again.", update and send again from the same phone. Don't assume the office has those files. If the problem stays, keep the capture on the phone and contact support before filling the report in again.
See My report didn't send and Saving and resuming form drafts for how to recover.
