Choosing your language on the phone
English, Spanish, French, Arabic or Romanian — pick yours under Me, or let the app follow your phone.
The field app is available in English, Español, Français, العربية (Arabic) and Română. Pick the one you read best; the people you work with can each choose their own.
Follow your phone, or choose
Out of the box, the app follows your phone's language. If your phone is set to Romanian, Maliru is in Romanian the first time you open it. If your phone's language isn't one of the five, Maliru uses English until you choose.
To choose regardless of the phone:
- Open Me and tap the cog.
- Tap Language — just under Appearance. The line underneath names your current choice.
- Pick a language. Each is listed in its own language, and Match my phone goes back to following the phone.

The change applies at once, to every screen. It is saved to your profile, so it follows you to any phone you sign in on, and it stays after you sign out — the sign-in screen will greet you in the same language next time. In Arabic, the app reads right to left.
What changes language
- Everything in the field app — Today, Work, Capture, Chat and Me, and the screens they open — and the sign-in screen.
- Messages from Maliru itself: buttons, headings, statuses, errors and confirmations.
- Most notifications, which are written in each person's chosen language when they are sent. Notifications only know the language you picked under Language — on Match my phone they arrive in English, so choose your language there if you want them in it too.
- Dates and times, in the usual style for that language.

A few screens are still in English, such as Correct my shifts on your timesheet. They are being translated.
What stays as your workspace wrote it
Maliru translates its own words, never your workspace's. Job titles, site and client names, form questions, categories, your company's own terms, and anything written in chat or an update appear exactly as they were typed.
The office stays in English
The office workspace used by managers and admins is written in English, and choosing a language doesn't translate it. A supervisor who switches to Admin view will find the office in English, apart from a few pieces it shares with the field app, such as some buttons, tabs and dates.
If a translation reads wrong
Tell your manager, or use Contact Maliru support in the Me cog menu. Corrections arrive with the app's regular updates.
