Maliru for street lighting & highway electrical

Every column tested, on record, on time.

Highway electrical work is cyclic and evidenced. Maliru keeps each column's test history, its faults and its replacement on one asset record, and gives the office a view over the round rather than a spreadsheet per contract.

What usually goes wrong

  • Cyclic testing tracked in a spreadsheet that drifts from what was actually done
  • Faults reported by the authority and logged somewhere else entirely
  • Permits, NRSWA cards and electrical qualifications in three separate places

How Maliru fits

  • Workstreams — Cyclic testing, reactive faults and renewal schemes as separate job types with their own fields.
  • Routes — A night of column tests handed to a crew as one card, confirmed with one tap.
  • Assets — Each column as a record, carrying its tests, its faults and its replacement.
  • Permits & credentials — Your own permit types requested from the job, plus NRSWA and electrical qualifications with expiry warnings.
  • Lone worker — Timed check-ins for anyone testing alone at night; a missed one alerts the people you name: by push on every plan, text from Team, phone call on Crew.
  • Service contracts — Cyclic inspections raised as visits, fault priorities with fix targets, and the period report for the authority built from the jobs.

Questions street lighting & highway electrical teams ask

Can we track testing per column?

Yes. Each column is an asset record and its tests, faults and replacements gather against it, so the history is per unit rather than per contract year.

Do you connect to a highway authority's system?

No. You define your own permit types with their fields and expiry rules and record the outcome against the job. There is no direct Street Manager connection today.

How do night rounds work?

Select the jobs, assign a crew with a shared window, and publish. Each assignee confirms their own attendance, and completion reports follow the route jobs.
